Classes
Take the next step in your craft by taking a class at TheatreWorks with some of the best teaching artists in the Bay Area. Individualized coaching will improve your range of acting, vocalization, and movement, while improv classes will sharpen your instincts for how to react onstage. Summer Conservatories
Each summer, junior high and high school students are given the opportunity to advance their skills in acting, music, playwriting, and movement. For grades 6-8, the Junior Conservatory is a two week program where middle school students can start to take their craft to the next level. For grades 9-12, the New Works Conservatory is a five week training ground for engaging in serious training for emerging artists. At our summer conservatories, we take your skills to the next level!
24-HOUR PLAY FESTIVAL
CURRENTLY ACCEPTING TEAMS! Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Assemble a team of 5 to 8 people from your school, friends, or drama club. Report to theatre base camp for a 24-hour play creation lockdown. You’ll have one day, one theme, one bag of supplies, and one chance at glory. Top teams will be recognized during the 2012/13 TheatreWorks season.
Young Artists in Residence
Become a resident young artist and learn how a theatre company works in all aspects, including acting, directing, playwriting, and technical theatre. Opportunities include chances to meet performers in mainstage productions, getting a peek behind the scenes of TheatreWorks, and participating in the 24 Hour Play Festival.
