Ticket Services/House Management Internship

Ticket Services is a crucial and often overlooked specialty within Arts Management It requires sophisticated computer and data management , as well as superior phone and in-person customer service skills. Interns will receive training in state-of-the-art ticketing programs, attend departmental meetings, shadow professional house management staff, and deal with the public on a regular basis.


Responsibilities

May include but not be limited to:

  • Filing.
  • Assist with subscription processing, single ticket sales and subscriber exchanges.
  • Assist with theatre lobby and will call booth display set up.
  • Assist with the public at theatre will call.
  • Schedule ushers and house managers.
  • Attend marketing and administrative departmental meetings.
  • Support related marketing projects.


Skills

Excellent communication skills, detail oriented, familiar to competant in one or more data management computer programs, demonstrated ability to learn new software quickly and effectively, self-starter, pitch-in attitude, background in theatre arts a plus.


Dates/Hours

Summer interns work full time and for a minimum of 6 weeks. Fall/Winter/Spring interns may work part time if desired for a minimum of 12 weeks, but one of the workdays must be Wednesday. Specific scheduling is arranged with the department supervisor.


Wednesday Workdays/Special Events: Summers Only

One day each week, interns from all departments come together to support general company operations. On Wednesdays, interns assist in the warehouse in costume rentals or props, or in other labor-intensive projects. Cleaning and organizing rehearsal halls or distributing marketing materials to retail stores are examples of other possible Wednesday Workday projects. In addition, interns are expected to work on large company special events such Opening Night Receptions, the annual Season Announcement, or large patron fundraisers.
