Sales & Marketing Internship

This department is responsible for generating approximately $3 million in earned income annually. Sales and Marketing activities encompass ticket services, publications, public relations, and community outreach. Interns are included in departmental meetings and strategy sessions. Recommended for those interested in sales and marketing careers in any field, and in management careers in the non-profit sector.


Responsibilities

Tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Assist marketing staff in research and data management of target audiences
  • Distribution of marketing materials throughout the Bay Area. (transportation reimbursed)
  • Assist ticket services department in subscription processing and will call ticket booth
  • Edit, proof, and contribute writing to e-newsletter and other publications


Skills

A creative eye, excellent communication skills, detail oriented, competent in Microsoft Office 2000, self-starter, experience in theatre arts a plus.


Dates/Hours

Specific scheduling is arranged with the department supervisor.


Wednesday Workdays/Special Events

One day each week, interns from all departments come together to support general company operations. On Wednesdays, interns assist in the warehouse in costume rentals or props, or in other labor-intensive projects. Cleaning and organizing rehearsal halls or distributing marketing materials to retail stores are examples of other possible Wednesday Workday projects. In addition, interns are expected to work on large company special events such Opening Night Receptions, the annual Season Announcement, or large patron fundraisers.
