What is the Campaign for Art & Innovation?

Since 1970, TheatreWorks has grown from a grassroots arts organization into a major cultural institution. As we celebrated our 40th year, the company embarked on a $3.3 million capital campaign to enhance our reputation for artistic innovation, expand our identity as a model for the development of new works, and strengthen our business structure to ensure a long-term future.

 

THE ART OF INNOVATION

New work has always been the heartbeat of TheatreWorks. Our New Works Initiative is a truly unique program providing artists with the opportunity to form collaborations and develop their pieces during every stage of the creative process; from an idea to a full scale production.  The New Works Festival and premiere productions are integral to the success of the program.

 

PUTTING THEATREWORKS ON THE MAP

TheatreWorks has often been called the "Best Kept Secret" by our patrons and peers. A dedicated visibility campaign will engage a broader audience in our meaningful work.  By effectively communicating what we do with more people in our local communities and in the national theatre arena, our family will extend from coast to coast.

 

ENGAGING AUDIENCES THROUGH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

TheatreWorks has a long history of investing in great art. Now we will be able to match our antiquated technology with our high production values. By infusing our systems with state-of-the-art resources, we will empower our main stage work, provide an exceptional patron experience, and become the virtual artistic home of Silicon Valley.

With $2 million contributed to date, we have already deepened our commitment to new work by successfully expanding our New Works Festival and producing six world premieres since 2009. We have also implemented a robust database that, for the first time, combines your donation and ticket information. In addition, we have fully redesigned our website to make it more interactive and to give you access to online ticket purchases and exchanges. And we're only half way there!
