Volunteers
TheatreWorks volunteers help us in a variety of ways, from ushering to hospitality to administration.
Volunteer activities fall into three main categories:
- Ushers and concessions volunteers are active evenings and weekends. They present our “public face” to everyone attending TheatreWorks shows at the Lucie Stern Theatre in Palo Alto. (The Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts has its own usher program.) For the Lucie Stern usher guidelines, click here.
- Hospitality volunteers are part of almost all of TheatreWorks’ events, from opening night parties to annual galas.
- Resident volunteers help out at our offices on a consistent weekly or monthly schedule. They are truly an invaluable resource to the company and receive insider perks for their dedicated service.
Benefits of Volunteering
Active volunteers are invited to the final dress rehearsal for every TheatreWorks production. They receive advance email notification of publicly advertised discounts and special events, and they attend an annual “Thank You” party held in their honor. Those who usher and volunteer at concessions also get to see that evening’s show for free.
How It Works
We have a constant, wide-ranging, ever-changing flow of volunteer opportunities. We notify our active volunteers by email as these opportunities arise. You can choose to participate according to your interest and availability.
