Communications Manager

Position Summary

The Communications Manager is responsible for supporting and implementing a multi-channel communications strategy to strengthen TheatreWorks’ brand, promote its mission, and increase tickets sales and donations for its programs and events. This institutional multimedia producer role supports content development and production, manages social media platforms, and assists with public relations efforts. The Communications Manager will also support TheatreWorks equity and inclusion initiatives. This is a hybrid remote/in-office position; a minimum of three (3) days in the office, plus in-person attendance at events, select performances, and staff/board meetings is required.

Special Events Manager

Position Summary

 

The Special Events Manager sets the standard for all TheatreWorks events, working in close cooperation with the staffs of the Development, Marketing, and Production teams, as well as Board members and major donors. This position assists with donor coordination and engagement and serves as a public face of TheatreWorks to ensure the success of fundraising efforts and donor events. This is a hybrid remote/in-office position; a minimum of three (3) days in the office, plus in-person attendance at events, select performances and staff/board meetings is required.

Accounts Payable Specialist

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist to support and coordinate, cross-functional general accounting. Including functioning as the full cycle payroll administrator using ADP Workforce Now (bi-weekly and weekly), Accounts Payable, and other duties for the company.

Costume Rental Manager

The Costume Rental Manager maintains, manages and rents TheatreWorks’ extensive costume collection as well as administering rentals for Peninsula Youth Theatre and California Shakespeare Company’s costume stocks to the wider Bay Area theatre community including schools, small theatres and film productions. The TW costume department depends on a well-organized stockroom to pull from for our own productions and the rental income supports the upkeep of the best rental stock in the Bay Area. This is a fully in-person job for an extremely organized individual with basic accounting skills as well as a working knowledge of costume history and garment maintenance.

Teaching Artists

Teaching Artists are practicing professional artists with the passion, skills, and understanding of an educator.  Real-world experience in their artistic field of choice enables them to enrich their curriculum and engage a broad scope of people beyond the classroom. Teaching Artists bridge the gap between the arts and learning to cultivate the future generations of awesome individuals ready to change this world.

 

We Are Looking for Teaching Artists Who:

  • Possess a respect for students from all backgrounds and ages.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge, understanding, and passion for their art form.
  • Have an understanding and passion for social justice.
  • Have Equity, Diversity & Inclusion training.
  • Value process and collaboration over end product.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Have significant experience teaching their art form.
  • Are familiar with the CA Arts Standards and Common Core State Standards, as appropriate to teaching their art form.
  • Have good classroom management skills.
  • Can participate in constructive feedback.
  • Have reliable transportation and are punctual.
  • Are able to pass a background check and a TB test.
  • Are able to supply a social security number, Tax ID, or proof of authorization to work in the United States.

 

To become a TheatreWorks Teaching Artist, submit a Teaching Artist Inquiry Form and we will contact you should your background and experience meet the requirements of one of our program needs. If we do not have an appropriate opening, we will retain your resume for future programming.

Design & Production Professionals

We hire scenic, costume, lighting and sound designers for all of our shows. We also hire Equity and non-equity Stage Management, as well as a full complement of backstage crew. Lastly, to supplement the efforts of our on-staff shop, craft, and production professionals, TheatreWorks often hires overhire, from carpenters and painters to property fabricators, costumers, electricians, and other theatre craftspeople. Shop and craft specialists construct and install all scenic elements, help maintain shop and rehearsal facilities, and assist in striking and recycling scenic materials. Successful candidates will have experience in professional shop practices, woodworking, and steel fabrication, with proficiency in common theatrical construction techniques.
